Does AI really understand you?
I'm back! After a whirlwind few weeks with meetings on Capitol Hill and recovering from knee surgery, I’m eager to return to the conversation—especially on how AI has begun to understand my emotions, character, and even thoughts through emotional intelligence (EQ). My experience with AI’s feedback on my emotional tendencies forced me to reconsider its potential.
I used to believe that AI could never fully match human emotional intelligence (EQ). While I haven’t completely abandoned that idea, my understanding and the way I describe it have evolved as I’ve gained deeper insight into these concepts. I once questioned how machines could quantify something as abstract as emotion, but I realized that I wasn’t entirely correct. Emotions, it turns out, are more measurable and less "personal" than I initially thought. Just like in any other field, having clear and precise definitions is essential when discussing complex ideas.
