Who am I?
I’m Nesibe Kırış Can — a lawyer and sociologist by training, an AI governance researcher by obsession.
I’m based in Istanbul, AIGP certified, and CAIERO-CP credentialed — Chief AI Ethics & Responsibility Officer Specialist. I write for Harvard Business Review and CoinDesk, consult with global firms on responsible AI, and founded Stratri, an AI governance consultancy.
I started TechLetter because the conversations happening in policy rooms, boardrooms, and research labs deserved a wider audience — one that didn’t require a law degree or a conference badge to follow along. Now 9,500+ people from 95 countries read it every week.

Why I Launched TechLetter
I didn’t start this because I had a content strategy or a growth plan.
I started it because I kept reading AI coverage that was either breathlessly optimistic or uselessly vague — and neither was helping anyone actually make sense of what was happening.
I’m a lawyer and a sociologist. I think about how systems work, who they serve, and what happens when they fail. When AI started reshaping industries, legal frameworks, and everyday decisions faster than most institutions could respond, I had things to say. TechLetter was the place to say them.
Editorial independence is non-negotiable. Everything else is a conversation.
